Kraków – Tatra National Park (in Zakopane) – Pieniny National Park (in Szczawnica)
Day 1.
Arrival at Kraków, welcome dinner and an evening walk around the Old Town. (UNESCO list)
Day 2.
Departure to Zakopane, the centre of Polish highland culture. A hike to a chosen Valley of Tatra. A regional dinner with local traditional dishes by the live folk music. An evening walk along Krupówki , the most famous street – the city’s boardwalk.
Day 3.
Going by the funicular up the Gubałówka Hill. Admiring the amazing panorama of the Tatra Mountains. A hike to the Kościelisko Valley: The ‘Mroźna’ Cave and The ‘Kraków’ Ravine with the ‘Dragon’s lair’ (Smocza Jama). Going back to Zakopane. Free time and dinner.
Day 4.
Taking the funicular up to the summit called ‘Kasprowy Wierch’ (1957 metres above the sea level) A spectacular view over the summits of Polish and Slovak Tatra Mountains belonging to the Tatra National Park (Biosphere Reserve UNESCO) *. Hiking along the mountain trails: descending to the Five Lakes Valley and going through the Karb mountain pass to Czarny Staw Gąsienicowy (Black Lake) in the Valley of Five Lakes. Taking a break in the Murowaniec Shelter. Descending to Zakopane City. A regional dinner with local traditional dishes by the live folk music.
Day 5.
Departure to Szczawnica – a resort Town in Pieniny Mauntains. A hike* to Sokolica summit (747 m.) in Pieniny National Park. The summit is famous for its incredible picturesque feature: the old solitary pine at the top of it and a dramatic view over the Dunajec River Gorge. A cycling trip along the river banks to Czerowny Klasztor (Eng: Red Monastery) a village and a monastery (crossing the border to Slovakia). Dinner.
Day 6.
Sightseeing of the Gothic Castle in Niedzica overlooking the Lake Czorsztyn. Rafting on traditional wooden rafts down the Dunajec River back to Szczawnica. Breathtaking views from the river perspective. Return to Kraków and dinner.
Day 7.
Sightseeing in the beautiful Old Town of Kraków (UNESCO) and the Wawel Royal Castle. A walk along the streets of the Old Town, the Cloth Hall (Sukiennice), the Gothic Barbican and St. Mary’s Church. Transfer to the airport.
